This Week In Wilco, Etc.
2008 / August 2: Wilco plays Lollapalooza in Grant Park in Chicago. The band brings out the Total Pros Horns for “Hate It Here,” “Can’t Stand It,” “Walken”, and “Monday”.
1992 / August 3: Uncle Tupelo’s album March 16-20, 1992 is released on Rockville Records.
2021 / August 5: To celebrate the rescheduled Wilco/Sleater-Kinney tour, a split single is issued with Wilco’s recording of the Sleater-Kinney classic “Modern Girl” on one side and Sleater-Kinney’s take on the Wilco classic “A Shot in the Arm” on the other. August 5th is also the first date of the tour, which opens at the First Interstate Center for the Arts in Spokane, WA.
