I’m very happy to hear of your deliverance from isolation.

We see what you did there. :)

Was that a play on words? "Deliverance?" is the closing song :)

Yes, I was making a joke. Maybe not a great joke...

😄

It was a mighty fine joke. Be proud.

Glad things are pickin' up for you.

Glad you’re well. Banjo sounds great. Did you catch “You’re Not Alone” on “Only Murders in the Building”? You and Steve Martin need a banjo collab!!

Check out Steve Martin and Martin Short's special - very musical and entertaining.

Also Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers are a musical joy to listen to!

I saw them live several years back. Phenomenal show.

Oh I can imagine!! I've been considering picking up a banjo - I just love the folky fun of bluegrass

Speaking of country music did all y’all (see I’m country) see that the Country Music Association banned confederate flags from their event in Nashville? Progress, right?

Hell the m-f-yeah! About time. (Also it’s probably damage control; they don’t want a huge riot on their hands.) 🙌🏻

Mass rebranding to follow for some of their artists.

Thanks for the chit chat checkin. (We have a very similar area rug.) Byyeeee!

P.S. I’m on Chapter 10 of your biography, which I listen to at bedtime. Then this AM on my walk I listened to your “A Ghost is Born” LP. (For context on what I listened to in your book, last night).

So...I think I’m now on the border of becoming “an obsessive fan” but only in the most benign way, I promise.

I do feel like we are becoming friends. Is that so wrong? 🙃🤭😁🎸🤣

That is how it begins...A Ghost is Born will make anyone become an instant fan. And if you're here, well you must already be a slightly obsessive fan like the rest of us. :)

I think I do prefer Summerteeth....but still learning.

Love the photo of the great Bob Newhart on display!

Very glad that you're doing better, Jeff. Based on the intro, I can only imagine how good a full solo version of "Acuff Rose" would sound on banjo.

Ooh, that would be amazing!

Glad to hear you're on the mend, Captain - take it easy! Did you see your old pal Jack Johnson give HTWOS a shout out? I've really enjoyed his new record. Blake Mills is a wizard.

"I wrote this one after reading the Jeff Tweedy book, How to Write One Song and thinking about some of the things that he talked about. It feels strange to share that I was reading a songwriting book and utilizing it—you like to try to keep the mystery—but Jeff Tweedy is a big enough influence on me musically that it’s kind of fun to be able to say that. His book definitely lit a spark in me. I liked a lot of the things he said about songwriting and how it’s a craft worth working at. That helped me sit down, take a few lines that had been floating around over the previous couple days and finish the song."

I'm so happy you're doing better. Love to the whole Tweedy Clan ....

Good news! 🙌🙌

Buuuuut, seriously, we DON’T need a solo banjo Tweedy album.

Seriously.

Don’t.

No.

This is so wrong. We need exactly that. Bring the Foggy Mountain Breakdown!

Do it Jeff. DO IT!

It’s ok to say Poop Deck. It’s complicated

CAPTAIN: Yet another great title for your solo covers album: "I DO HAVE FRIENDS."

Will permit guest appearance by Pat to complete that Dueling Banjos.

(PS did you know it was originally called "Feudin' Banjos" and that the songwriter had to sue to get credit for it in Deliverance?)
