It feels strange to share that I was reading a songwriting book and utilizing it—you like to try to keep the mystery—but Jeff Tweedy is a big enough influence on me musically that it’s kind of fun to be able to say that. His book definitely lit a spark in me. I liked a lot of the things he said about songwriting and how it’s a craft worth working at. That helped me sit down, take a few lines that had been floating around over the previous couple days and finish the song."
