Legendary song. With graceful, deathless words that are long memorized and close: “If I had a boat/You know I'd probably roll over/
And I’d leave it on the shore/I’d leave it for somebody/Surely there's somebody/Who needs it more than me.” Thank you for sharing this today. Feel better.
Oh I don’t think my weary, broken heart can handle “Sunken Treasure” today. Remembering it from a 2005 or 2006 show at a college in Latrobe, PA. It was a gymnasium and felt like Wilco was playing prom. I got tired to shenanigans on the floor and slipped away to the top of the bleachers just as “Sunken Treasure” began. It was a wonderful few minutes of being alone and above the crowd to meditate on the song. A beautiful memory that I needed today.
I remember getting Being There when it came out. "Misunderstood" was a bit of a shock for someone expecting a more gradual evolution from A.M. but I loved it. Then I was just joyfully bewildered at the wonderful sprawl of the rest of disc 1. And then with disc 2 came "Sunken Treasure"...spellbinding, jaw-dropping, and instantly a lifelong favorite, full band or acoustic. Thank you for sharing this one. Feel better soon. Sending love to all in LA.
This is a beautiful version of a beautiful song. One of my core Wilco memories is when you played this at the Boston University Arena in 2005 and rightfully called out portions of the crowd for going to get beer while you were singing your heart out. This has been a favorite ever since then.
It pains me to hear your scratchy voice, Jeff! And soothes me to hear that beautiful rendition of Sunken Treasure. Here’s hoping you get better soon. Your brain and imagination still work even when your voice is shot, so I trust you’ll be keeping busy while you recuperate.
Thank you for giving us something to look forward to in April. I’m already thinking about my requests!
Sending love and safety to all in LA areas and to their friends and families too. Hope you feel better asap! Thank you as always for all your generosity. (And to Susie too.)
Like the others who have commented, I love this version of yet another favorite song. Your voice has always been comforting, and this sweet performance is no exception.(& I appreciate that no one screamed "woo!") We've been battling some kind of virus since Christmas/Hanukkah, so I hope YOU feel better soon. Final comment: about the wildfires in California: We have several family members and friends who have evacuated their homes & we've been watching this from NYC, feeling helpless and frightened. Thanks for mentioning it.
Sunken Treasure will forever be my favorite Wilco song. It’s such a bittersweet, yet magnificently comforting song. I’m overwhelmed how blessed I feel to have it in my life. I think about it every single day.
After hearing your scratchy throat, this version of Sunken Treasure is like the exact opposite, drawing out phrasing and almost sorrowful. Beautiful.

Music is my savior too. 🥹🙏✌️🎶❤️🩹
Feel better, Captain! Such a beautiful and powerful rendition. Music is my savior, one of the best written lines there is. ❤️

Gorgeous version - appropriate for the day. Feel better soon, Jeff — we need you singing.
Awesomeness. Such a minimalist tune ... love it...
I love this version. It was part of a band DVD and was one of the reasons I fell in love with Wilco. Thanks for the good memories.
Feel better ✨❤️🩹✨
