Under the weather today, but still wanted to check-in. Thinking about and sending love to our friends and loved ones in Los Angeles.

Sunken Treasure (Live from The Vic Theatre Chicago)
This Week in Wilco, Etc.
2005 / January 8: Wilco’s appearance on Austin City Limits (Season 30, Episode 10) airs. The live set was recorded on September 20, 2004. Songs selected for the broadcast include “At Least That’s What You Said,” “Muzzle of Bees,” “Hell Is Chrome,” “Ashes of American Flags” and “I’m a Wheel.”
2000 / January 9: The Minus 5 opens for Wilco at their final show at Lounge Ax. In the Wilco 29-song set, “Walt Whitman’s Niece” debuted live and the song “No Church Tonight” is played for the only time, with Jay singing lead.
2019 / January 11: At the Sydney Goldstein Theater in San Francisco, Jeff is interviewed by George Saunders in an appearance for the Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back) book tour. The evening also includes a Q&A with the audience and a performance of four songs.
After hearing your scratchy throat, this version of Sunken Treasure is like the exact opposite, drawing out phrasing and almost sorrowful. Beautiful.
Legendary song. With graceful, deathless words that are long memorized and close: “If I had a boat/You know I'd probably roll over/
And I’d leave it on the shore/I’d leave it for somebody/Surely there's somebody/Who needs it more than me.” Thank you for sharing this today. Feel better.
