Chit-Chat Check-In #99 Transcript

Hello, this is your Captain speaking. This is the 99th Chit-Chat Check-In, which means we are approaching the 100th Chit-Chat Check-In, because that's how numbers work.

I personally think the number 99 is cooler than 100. But we don't celebrate things like that for some reason. Maybe we'll celebrate a 5 year thing, or 10 years. It seems like we like even numbers. We like easily divisible increments. Easily multiplied increments. So 99, while it might not mean as much to the world, means more to me. But we'll celebrate 100 because that is the norm.

Speaking of anniversaries, we made a post, or Spencer made a post, a week or so ago about the 10-year anniversary of Sukierae. Once again, I would have celebrated it on the 9th year, but that's not how things work. It's a lovely, lovely post. We were also wanting to share some outtakes from that, and we're going to do so here. From that record. Outtakes from that record. My syntax is off, I think from looking at the internet too much lately.

It's a high-stakes time. It's a high-stakes feeling in the world, in the air. I certainly want to send our thoughts to all of the people on the Substack here, on the Starship Casual, who might be struggling with hurricanes and mudslides and chaos, and feeling a little bit overwhelmed by the overall atmosphere. We are here for you in the small way that we are able to be here for you, and all I can say is that I hope that this is a space you can come to for a little distraction and comfort. I hope it helps.

Alright. Love you. Carry on. I do ... alright. Bye. Carry on.
