Chit-Chat Check-In #142 Transcript

Hello, this is your Captain speaking. I’m just making a quick Chit-Chat Check-In here to let you know that I’m sharing a song from the Twilight Override sessions. It’s actually the song we recorded, pretty much live, on the last day of recording. It didn’t make it on the record, I think because we had the record pretty much made.

It was just a day of recording—we just set up and played it once, I think. Learned the song and recorded it once, and did a few vocal overdubs on it. I hadn’t heard it in a while, and I just listened to it and thought it was worth sharing. It could probably fit in on another record, but at the time, the decision was a) the record was pretty much finished already and b) it sounded more like the past solo records than other things. That was my assessment at the time. Plus we already had a fair amount of songs with “Love” in the title. Or at least one, I think.

It’s called “Love and Not Love.” So if you’re interested in more than 30 songs from the same session, here’s at least one more. There are several. Maybe I’ll share more of them over time. But I feel like I’ve weighed everyone down quite a bit already, with 30 songs (laughs). Oh well, what are you going to do? Not write 30 songs and not put them out? I guess you could do that. I’ll try that next time.
