My son and I were listening to the album last night and he asked if Certainty was a song Jeff covered on the Tweedy Show and I told him no - it’s just one I had been hacking through on guitar- maybe that’s where he had heard it. Alas today this comes out! Thank you for the gorgeous cover.

Jeff, I’m not a subscriber because in the scheme of things I’d be wrong to spend on what you, patti smith, Marc Bittman and many others are writing…I’d be broke $$ wise and should be putting money towards either my family or a charity. What I wanted to ask is after 6 months if you’d unlock the locked areas. So after half a year, 6 long months your fans get to listen to your music.
Feel free to tell me to “fuck off” if that’s how you felt when read this note. No disrespect, but that is it goes…
