Hello from the road, everybody. Wilco is on tour with Waxahatchee. We played our first show together last night. It was lovely. The people in Tallahassee were really sweet. A Saturday night crowd could go one of two ways. They went the way that makes it possible to have a great show.
While we were getting prepared to leave home, Starship Casual officer and moonlighting video editor Crystal made a recap of my annual benefit shows from the Vic Theatre last week. Crystal says that she was so “enraptured” by the shows that she didn’t record as much footage as she usually does, leading to a video that’s below her usual standards. To which I say, maybe that makes it like the shows themselves in that it allows some cracks to show. You know… So the light gets in, and whatnot.
