I sleep underneath a picture that I keep of you next to me
Magnetized (solo acoustic) + CCCI #90
Checking in from the actual Starship Casual. Maybe you can hear the generators running in the background of the audio above, keeping things relatively cool on a hot day.
I’m just outside our nation’s capital, en route to Solid Sound. There’s not a whole lot to report. I’m spending a lot of time in the cryo chamber, saving up energy for shows and rehearsals and whatnot. I have a daily agenda. I read a little bit, I write a little bit, rehearse a little bit, and then do my job.
Anyway, here’s “Magnetized.” I’m not sure if we’re going to be playing this on Friday night for the Deep Cuts set, but it’s just another one that I’ve been listening to and reminding myself how the chords get laid out and all that. I kind of love this song, even though it’s really a weird shape and has sort of a bizarre, surreal texture to it lyrically. But I’ve always felt like the chorus is honest and, I don’t know, longing. There’s always room for some longing, some yearning, I think, in a song.
Carry on, and maybe I’ll see you soon.
