We’ve been doing a lot of traipsing around Iceland this week. The true form of traipsing—we’ve covered a lot of ground on this beautiful island. So much so, Susie even captured the moment a rainbow revealed itself.
Love -that your family chimed in for the checkin, that you seem to be riding on a tour bus with lots if cool travelers instead of a private limo, and for the look on your face that Spencer captured with the ‘Stupid Rainbow’! Makes me feel like I’m there too🌈🥕🥕
I was hoping you’d do an Iceland check-in!! Thank you! First, the captions on the photos are hilarious! Second, I loved hearing the bus crowd. Sounded so joyous! Third, for the last week, I have been living vicariously through the Iceland posts of so many friends and strangers. I’ve been on social media more this past week than my entire life I think. Such an amazing experience, I cannot even imagine the feelings filling people. It makes me happy to know so many others are experiencing magic. Of course a tad jealous too (only human, right?)! Wilco has created such a devoted community. It’s beautiful. Thank you for this. ✨
Carrot cracks add character!! Say that five times fast. Barely noticeable 😋
Thank you for sharing this with us. This island IS quite whimsical, stupid rainbows and all 🌈
I don’t know about you, but there’s a deep sense of gratitude (þakklæti in Icelandic) I get wandering here. From the people, places, and things. A geological and anthropological treasure trove to be sure.
Thank you for opening up the opportunity to experience yours and Iceland’s music in this little land of magic 🥰
I think I heard Mark in the background talking about root vegetables, and both of you saying that Howlin’ Wolf ate carrots before shows....did you make that up? If not, where did you learn that? It’s not that I don’t believe you....I’m just fascinated.
We (fortunately) don’t have to go far to hear you or Wilco, living somewhere between the Auditorium Theater and the Riv, but I am so happy we did! I’ve been privileged to arrange some trips over the years to coincide with some rock and/or roll or art or natural features, however this one was extra special. The locals and the natural world and your and Wilco all brought their A game and I’m already dreaming of a return to this island, Ìsland~
I dunno, you maybe want to keep the carrot for nights where you do I’m a Wheel — that howl sounded particularly inspired! Thanks for giving me an excuse to come back to this magical place.
This trip has been magical! Thank you getting us to Iceland Jeff! No carrot cracks were noticed. 🥕

Why do you think Bugs Bunny spoke as he did? Hmmm? Enjoy the rest of your trip, and thank you for sharing.
“Roots rock” ha ha, spit up my coffee.

Pretty sure that was a joke.
I mean, I’ve heard stranger things. And musicians have very strange rituals....present company excluded of course (not?)
All the best for a great secret show tonight

now I’m all primed for a Reykjavík-centric Armisen/Brownstein ‘Icelandia’ series
Roots Rock Rules!
Oh, the whimsy.

The people on the bus go up and down
