This Week In Wilco, Etc. 2022 / January 1: Jeff debuts a cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes” on Starship Casual. 1956 / January 4: Happy Birthday Nels Cline! 2019 / January 6: At Largo in Los Angeles, Jeff’s encore features a cover of the Lal & Mike Waterson song “Bright Phoebus.” Spencer and Sammy join on harmony vocals.
how about we do a starship casual community cookbook like my parents' church used to do? i made a weirdly good banh mi salad last night that i think y'all might like
Happy New Year to the Captain and his loyal crew! What is this Loft surveillance, though? That doesn’t seem very punk rock to have “The Man”keeping tabs on you, or sending cards to an elite tier. But if we’re gonna have some surveillance, then I request more behind-the-scenes images of what Crystal and Mark’s days are like when at the office, especially Crystal. She should have a “Crystal’s Corner” segment on the Starship, IMHO, where she could recommend books or such. Make her record one! As for Largo requests, maybe Jeff should play Out For A Walk (aka Circumcised) again...and again...and again...😜
If I may, I've been hoping you might do a cover of the old Bobby Womack record "It's All Over Now." You may remember it as a Stones hit back in the day. Would love to hear a Tweedy take on this old gem. Happy New Year, Jeff, and All The Tweedys!❤
I am glad that other people enjoy holidays, so I can't completely say that I hate them, but I do wish I could opt out. It would break my mother's heart, however, so I keep going to all the family parties year after year. I don't do well when I have to stop my usual routines.
Starship LoftCam 24/7 — membership exclusive for 2023. Tiered access for freaks, geeks, and creeps (platinum status enables all access). It’s “moichendising” in the starship-digital age.
If taking Largo suggestions, I’d love to hear “You Are Not Alone” on Friday night as our captain playing it on one of the first Tweedy Shows was very meaningful in those early days of the pandemic. But Randy Newman’s “I Love LA” would be fun singalong, too!
Happy New Year, Jeff, Mark, Crystal and the entire crew (the clients, as you like to call us -- so transactional). There is really nothing I could suggest to make this site better. It's great exactly the way it is. Thanks for everything. Leaving for Iceland in exactly 3 freaking months!
Made it! Won’t be in L.A. but have a blast. Lovin the ride, always a nice treat. Here’s a suggestion...maybe a little Tuscaloosa Neil HERE WE ARE IN THE YEARS? Either way, this is fun.
Mark is amazing and super generous - many years ago he helped coordinate a JT signature of a poster for my wife what was signed by the rest of the band in Oregon - just needed one more. I sent it to some crazy place in Chicago and it came back signed. The missing scribbled puzzle piece probably saved my marriage - Thanks again Mark! You are a gem of a human.

I'd really love a starship t shirt. Even if we had to buy it. Something for members only. Also, loved this check in...it made me laugh. Thanks!

"I'm gladder" was the laugh I needed. Thx, Starship Casual crew!

A suggestion box is a good idea.
A cover of Nick Cave's "The Mercy Seat" would be intense and amazing. (Johnny Cash tried!)

If you play Everlasting Everything at Largo, I will die.
Would love to hear you cover anything of Matt Sweeney’s And Bonnie Prince Billy’s Superwolf album 😅

“I’m gladder”...and I’m glad I wasn’t drinking milk when I heard that!
