This Week In Wilco, Etc.
1997 / December 12: Wilco begins rehearsals at King Size Studio in Chicago for Mermaid Avenue. Sessions for the album follow in January in Dublin, Ireland.
2012 / December 13: Jeff appears on Season 8 of The Colbert Report with Mavis Staples and Sean Lennon.
2008 / December 16: Wilco opens for Neil Young at Madison Square Garden in New York City. During the 11-song set they are joined by Norah Jones, Catherine Popper, and Sasha Dobson on background vocals during “Jesus, Etc.". Later, everyone sings “Happy Birthday” to Spencer Tweedy, who then takes over the drum stool for “The Late Greats”, with Glenn moving over to play other percussion.
Hey. Mom just died after a 5 wk battle w cancer. I listened to Either way, sky blue sky, and all of cruel country over and over. It was such a solace. Thanks. Glad there’s new music coming. ❤️
Here's my question: Are you at all concerned that spending several days in Iceland, with its spectacular hiking opportunities, will ruin all other hiking for you?
Also just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful Carpool Karaoke episode. I knew it would be charming and I was still delighted by how charming it was. I think it's safe to say Nikki Glaser was all of us.
