Watch now (5 min) | This Week In Wilco, Etc. 1990 / September 20: Uncle Tupelo plays an in-store acoustic set of six songs at Waterloo Records in Austin, TX. Later that night they play a show at Liberty Lunch. 2011 / September 21: Wilco performs “Born Alone” on Late Night with David Letterman
Yay!!! Thanks for the elongated Chit Chat/workshop. 😁 We saw you last night in Bend...from the FRONT ROW! I was the one with “Hello from Starship Casual” sign. ☺️🎸😝 (My husband painted the letters, but it was all my idea.) Seriously Jeff!! That was such a great show! My very first Wilco show. And, coincidentally...my first 100% sober concert. So thank you for rocking our socks off...clear-mind style!! Truly. 🙏🏻❤️🌈🤘
Footnote: Oh! I forgot I HAVE seen Wilco before...so this was not technically my "first" concert. I saw you, Jeff, and whoever made up Wilco, back in I want to say 2002 maybe, at a Lallapalooza concert (Perry Farrel's traveling show).
Were you there? If not, then it was later, maybe in 2004? at a Sasquatch Festival (at the Gorge Amphitheater, WA).
It's all a bit foggy now.
But I will say, in either case, I was so far away from the stage I couldn't possibly make out your face, and thus the recollection is quite vague. And you were my HUSBAND's band, back then. I was like, "Whatever...." (Sorry, my bad. It took me a while to appreciate you and your music. That happened much later, when I read your memoir, and heard your ideas shared in interviews, etc. A girl can grow, no?)
All this to say, OK, maybe this was my first "real" experience of a Wilco concert...as it was the first time I had full appreciation and awareness and dedicated PRESENCE for you and your bandmates.
I must've been on the other side of you from Bob. I was the one who sang loudly in your ear🙉 What a great first Wilco show and congrats on being sober.
Wilco has been my go to band since they started. Watching the band and Jeff evolve has been great. At my first show(in 1995) I think Jeff said hi and this is our last song and not much else. And now he freely gives people crap, it's awesome. Are you going to Iceland for their 3 night thing next spring?
Tweedy’s banter is so good. And I really needed to hear his “sermon” on focusing on the now. I got a seat for the 3 nights in the balcony, so I’m already making plans for Iceland but I’m betting tickets will be resold closer to the dates. There’s a Facebook group called Wilco in Iceland & some people have already bought & sold tickets there so I’m keeping my eye out.
Thank you for playing 2 miles from my home. Also, I’m the “jerk” who was on the rail and requested Spiders and you said “we are on a program.” It embarrassed my son lol. Anyways, I’m glad you were able to hike Tumalo Falls. That hike is usually overcrowded but mid-week is a fab time to go. The hikes above that trail along Tumalo Creek are just as fab, btw. It’s really cool to snowshoe to in the winter. I also shouted “please keep BEND, Oregon a secret” but I moved here from Nebraska 19 years ago so that would be pot calling the kettle black. Great show! Now my kids expect every show to be front row for now on. See you in Iceland.
Awesome! I was there. That was a comedic moment for sure. And hey - I moved AWAY from Bend about 20 years ago. Fancy that. We are starships...passing...in space...(?) ....or through a Wilco concert.😝🎶🤘
First, I can’t get over how much Scott sounds like my friend John McDuffy. 😂 Second, it was so good seeing you all in San Diego. Your comment about being open to being happy got me a little misty. I’m getting ready to leave all my wonderful friends in CA, and move back to southern IL to help my aging father. I think that is where I will find my “happy”. 💜
Scott! Scott! Scott! It was great to see the band last night in Bend. We brought the entire family. At first I was not excited about the seat-cage but it ended up being awesome being surrounded by fellow fans and not yip-yappers. Awesome show and thanks for coming our way. Next stop - ICELAND, where I hear popcorn and ice water costs $300. LOL :)
Oh hi! I think I remember you! Is your hair shorter than your profile pic? I was in hat and glasses. Did we talk about whether or not we could leave our seats and go to the rail? 😁😝🎸🤘🎶 Well if that’s you - we did!! So effing fun.
Yes, that was me. You had the sign, correct? My son wanted to make a sign that said "My parents are dragging me to Iceland to see Wilco" but he changed his mind.
Jeff!! Great show last night in Bend. Really really enjoyed it. You kept looking at me, too!
In the spring, I cohosted a college radio show at University of Vermont from 12-2 AM. I played Falling Apart (RN) the very night it came out. I’m quite convinced I was the first DJ to ever play that song! So happy to hear it live.
I was there last night. My first live concert since COVID shut down everything back in 2020...and it was a Wilco show. Thanks for the memories Jeff. It's great to be back seeing live music again.
Hiya Scott and Jeff! Me and a buddy saw Scott walking around Austin at SXSW years ago and we said hi with me worrying like I always do in these situations that I'm being a bother. But Scott was super sweet and gracious and chatted with us several minutes. As far as younger audiences go I'm doing my part. My son and granddaughter have both attended the Wilcos! And music makes us all pretty ageless anyway, right?!
Thanks for introducing me to Scott McCaughey - such a treat! And it's great to hear the Bend show was much better than you had been warned. So glad the band (at least) was excited about it! AND, when are you coming back to Toronto???!!
I'm sure this has been requested before but I was listening to Heavy Metal Drummer and wondered if you actually have any Kiss covers in your recent repertoire? Maybe Every Time I Look At You? I think that would sound nice.

I was one person to your left, and sat behind ya for Kamikaze Palm Tree before we all rushed the rail! What a great night! 100% sober here, too!
Oh awesome!! Glad to experience it alongside you. 🤘😁

YES!! Hello, again! I remember you. 😊 Loved your enthusiasm. 🤗✨

I love his rapport with the audience. Oh gosh I WISH I/we could go to Iceland...that sounds like a dream....but maybe? (I saw it’s sold out...)

Nicely done for your first show! Congratulations.

P.S. my real name is Heather ☺️🤘

Pack that water bottle!
Awesome!! I was there too! It was not too cold at all!! And it didn’t rain. Such good energy...so much love.💖✨🥰
Fyi, your fans are getting younger. My son is 14 and my daughter is 10 and they loved seeing Wilco live.
Oh hi! I think I remember you! Is your hair shorter than your profile pic? I was in hat and glasses. Did we talk about whether or not we could leave our seats and go to the rail? 😁😝🎸🤘🎶 Well if that’s you - we did!! So effing fun.

The Mighty Boosh!
OMG, that singer looked like Old Gregg
"Galactic Council" :)
Jeff cracks me up. If this music business doesn’t pan out, he can totally become a comedian.
Are you kidding? To know him is to love him. We’re talking about America’s favorite houseguest!
Jeff!! Great show last night in Bend. Really really enjoyed it. You kept looking at me, too!

Thanks for inspiring and jamming!
❤️ The jean jacket check in. Peace, Love, Happiness & Jean Jackets Forever!😊😊 Love it!
SCOTT!!!! What a lovely photo <3

They were there last month.
I know - I was there, but I want them to come back again, soon!
Sorry, they need to visit Victoria first. It's been 12.6 years.
No need to apologize, and you;re right - they NEED to get their butts to Victoria first!
Thanks for sharing Wilco.
Awww! Well, THAT was adorable!
If you're still in his vicinity / company, tell him I love the Scott the Hoople presents Stereo 66 LP... ;-) It is, indeed, a Rock & Roll Party.
I'm sure this has been requested before but I was listening to Heavy Metal Drummer and wondered if you actually have any Kiss covers in your recent repertoire? Maybe Every Time I Look At You? I think that would sound nice.
Jeff can only play Kiss covers beautiful and stoned. These days he's only beautiful.
