The return of Dear Jeffy (Go Ask Susie)! Leave inquires below, we’ll respond via audio post in the next day or so as we make our way back to Chicago from Yonkers.
Sadly no. If you know anyone selling tickets, 4 of us are looking. Had someone today who said they would sell to me, then backed out on 2 of them. Don't want to buy 2 if we can't get the other 2.
Thank you! Trying again today for single day tickets. Just sucks that they backed out on is like that. Talked to them on the phone for a good ten minutes, really trusted them. Huge bummer.
I know this question is for Jeff and Susie, but I bought a nifty poster book with plastic sleeves which holds 40 posters. I keep it tucked behind my records and ready to flip onto the coffee table at any given moment.
A three-panel folding screen takes little floor space; each panel is usually 18" wide, 5 ft or so tall, enough space to display two posters per panel, and if you use the other side, you have a total of 12 posters.
I’ve got a question. How did you and Susie handle the empty nest after the boys went away for college? My wife and I are at that stage and are mid-adjustment. Any advice?
HI Jeff,I have been writing songs in my basement for 40 years.....I an 68. I bought your book "How To Write One Song" .I took your advice to heart and used some of your methods. In the fall of 2020 I reconnected with a long lost friend who was in the last stages of Cancer. I suggested we write some songs together. He would send me poems and stories and I would do my best to turn them into songs. In the last 3 months of his life we published an album on Bandcamp. He lived to hear it. I have published 4 albums in the last 2 years. It has been incredibly productive. Your ideas helped. I think my newest album is most influenced by you and your writing and thoughts, Every Valley a River" I have really always done it for myself and my friends but something about writing with my friend Jeff Armstrong made me want to have more people hear what I am doing and thinking. I don't have a band......If you were me, what advice would you give? Here is a link to the work. Thanks for any advice you might have.Tim
Regarding writing, do you read your reviews? If so, how do process them? For example, I know an author who writes thrillers, and when he gets a bad review, he “kills off” the reviewer in a future novel by using their name for a victim.
Dear Jeffy, I only have one inquiry at this point, is that really a burger or is it a birthday cake for you made to look like a burger and did it last long after that pic or end up on the floor as it looks rather unsteady in your hands?!! I guess that ended up to be 2 inquiries, I apologize. Happy travels back to Chicago!
I was thinking of punny names for Wilco-themed fantasy football teams. I'm a Rams guy from their days in St. Louis, so clearly my team would be "I'm the RAM who loves you" (or possibly (r)A.M.), but I was thinking of others, like aside from the obvious, "Hotel Arizona Cardinals" and "Via Chicago Bears" there are more obscure ones like "She's a Jaguar" and "Yankee Goodell Foxtrot."
Anyway, my question is twofold: do you have a fantasy football team and if so what is its name? More generally, what is your stance on puns?
Dear Jeffy and Susie, Considering that you are both serious collectors of things and have limited space for things (I think), what are the criteria for a new item to make it into the permanent collections? Does something that you have already have to go to make room? You can always make room for another Pez dispenser but musical instruments might be a little harder.
I always liked hearing your occasional and insightful analysis of random topics that came up during The Tweedy Show. Example: Why 'kinda' is a modifier for something deeply felt or believed.
Do you foresee a Starship Casual seating section at future Wilco / Tweedy shows?
Or t-shirts so we know who we are at concerts!
Anyone else booked for Iceland?
Yes!
Yes!

Keep checking venue where they are playing…often tix are open closer as you get to show date. Plus, face value is usually better than scalpers price.
Sorry, don't know of anyone at this point. I'll keep you in mind though. We've only got a pair for each show.
Thank you! Trying again today for single day tickets. Just sucks that they backed out on is like that. Talked to them on the phone for a good ten minutes, really trusted them. Huge bummer.
People!
We need 2 for Bend!
How does one go about picking an opening band?
Are you as excited about Iceland as WE are?? Can you share anything about how the Reykjavik residency came to be?
I don't have enough wallspace for all of my Wilco posters. What can I do to enjoy them all? (Not going to sell or give them away.)
SAME!!

I recently did this too! I keep my favorites on the wall, but the others are stored in the binder! It was one of my best purchases this year.
You could always get a poster display like they used to have at Spencer's Gifts in the mall!

Here is the first poem Jeff sent me on the back of a grocery store receipt while visiting Effigy Mounds in Iowa
Stars are falling
Filling the boat
Time to row for shore
Time to row for shore
The light is dimming
Its time to go
Time to row for shore
I was talking to a friend the other night
he didn't have long to live
And asked him when he knew it was time
and this is what he said --
Well I went to a spiritual place today
The bears were already sleeping
Winter was near and the stars had all fallen
The stars are falling
Filling the boat
Time to row for the shore
Time to row for the shore
Hi! Favorite board games for a family game night?
You sound awfully nonchalant for a guy who's dropping a kid off at college. Any advice for when it's my turn?
Great show in New Haven! It was so worth the drive from Delaware.
What is on heavy listening rotation for the drive back to Chicago?

And on a related note if anyone is looking for a Wilco-pun name related fantasy football league I would love to recruit some folks.
Would love that!

Drive safely!
Will SBS occur in ‘23, ‘24? Or will we travel the globe each winter, beginning with Iceland? I love either and/or both options just curious 😍
I would like to know this too!
Jeff, Please write a book whose subject is "How To Be In A Band."
Yes, great idea, it's been a while.
Do you have ideas yet for your next book?
Will it be practical (how to --?)
Political? Philosophical?
