Listen now | This Week In Wilco, Etc. 2022 / April 3: Jeff reunites with Golden Smog for the second of two shows at First Avenue in Minneapolis, MN. 2007 / April 6: Jeff plays a 30-song set at The Vic Theatre in Chicago as a Montessori School benefit, the set includes a cover of Brian Wilson’s “Love And Mercy”.
Love hearing Tweedy banter again! Made me smile! Quick memory about Playboy (prompted by the Playgirl schooner). They once featured a “t-shirt of the month.” After losing his job shy of his 15 year pension in the late 70s, my dad went full-on Texas macho (cowboy boots, Stetson, and porn mustache). He and a buddy secured the rights to the token that was used at “The Chicken Ranch.” They slapped the image on a t-shirt and submitted a picture to the magazine. It ended up being the very last one featured for awhile, because of mucho complaints of poor quality and shipping delays. Dad’s business went belly-up and his buddy skipped town. I still have a few of the t-shirts.
I got to attend and enjoy both nights of the Golden Smog reunion shows, they were so much fun. First Avenue is one of the great rock n roll venues in the world, it was fun to see so many of our favorite sons together playing there again (even with the token Illinois kid in Jeff.) Thanks for streaming them so others could enjoy. Here's hoping Golden Smog reunites for another album in the future!
We love Dinkel’s and are sad to hear this news. A must for every visit to Chicago. Thanks for the Smog shows; what a wonderful weekend. See you on the 23rd!
We moved two blocks from Dinkels in 2004, partly because of Dinkels. Oh my, I will miss them. And Lilah (my 13 y.o. for whom Jeff and Spencer once played "Just a Kid" for on the Tweedy show") claims they have the best hot chocolate in the world, is bumming. But hey nothing leasts forever, nothing gold can stay.
This little slice of life made me miss The Tweedy Show all over again.
Captain, I believe I speak for lichurally everyone in the world when I say we are ready for another Tweedy Show! Any time, any day, any length.
My wife said "claaasssy" regarding the playgirl chalice
Her opinion is diminished as she is a starship casual stowaway
the font on that goblet.👌
❤️❤️❤️ thank you for the installment of The Tweedy Radio Show.
Looking forward to my future Starship Casual Playgirl mug
Don't you mean "So Susie me"?

For being a boring family "shit-chat", there were several laugh out loud moments in this one.
