Looking forward to seeing you in Austin! I'm also a big fan of Alejandro and Lucinda - it's going to be a special night.

I know what you mean about casinos.

The only time I was in a casino was 14 or 15 years ago for a Nine Inch Nails concert. So much of it was disturbing to me. The vacationing asian family posing for pictures in front of the statue of a golden bull. The retired guy in the elevator, decked out in his gambling equipment, wishing me good luck. The din of the beeping, bleeping, ring-dinging machines on the gambling floor that drove me to flee, almost in a panic, searching everywhere for a door, walking in circles till I finally found one. Like they were intentionally trying to make it difficult to escape.

It was a day. Venue staff had no idea how to handle the crowd lined up for hours in the casino lobby. At one point, they decided to split the line to make room, leading to chaos and lost hours of line position when they released both lines at once. The Atlantic City crowd at the concert was particularly rough, even for an old rail bird like me. I was pinched and shoved, the packed crowd near the stage moving six feet sideways back and forth in bursts. The fog machine set off the fire alarm, pausing the show. An epileptic girl went down. A memorable (wonderful) show.

Afterwards, we hung out in the bar, watching glamorous call girls make connections. It was the most fascinating part of being in a casino. Then we returned to our upgraded room next door at the Trump Taj Mahal (who knew!) The opulent, ocean view suite was wasted on us, and silly, but we enjoyed watching tv from the hot tub in the bedroom and marveling at how the other half lives.

But, yeah Jeff, stay out of the casino. It’s upsetting.

OMG can’t believe we get to hear One Sunday Morning at your induction!! I play it most mornings - eases me into my day. So glad I live in Austin and was lucky enough to get a ticket. You’re gonna have some big fans waiting for you here in Austin! And yeah many reasons to avoid casinos:)

Re: the fear of casinos -

It's a little-known fact that the Everyone Hides video is actually a tribute to all of the times that Jeff has had to keep out of sight of a band of Vegas bookies he stiffed in 1992.

It is so nice to hear your Starship Casual voice. It makes me happy to hear you are winding down and heading back to your sweet family. Enjoy Austin and big congrats. Wish you were ending this tour with a swing up to Dallas - it’s been too long.

That is the sound that you here when you have had too much to drink and you end up in a weird venue that only sells alcohol to make people gamble—

Congratulations on the ACL honor! Have you ever listened to the old Austin group Uncle Walt's Band? It's a shame those guys never made it big.

I don’t believe in hell, but if there is such a place, I imagine it looks a lot like a dark, rundown casino floor.

I moved away from Vegas a couple years ago. Your added casino sounds made me lol at the beginning and end. Both times. Love it.

You sound upbeat considering how long you've been on the road! Maybe a Tweedy Show or 2 once you're off for awhile? All The Best, Jeff❤

An honor on ACL, congratulations. Would love to see you add “One Sunday Morning” into your and / or Wilco’s song rotation more regularly.

I love Vegas…..a very weird slice of American excess on display for all to see.

This may be the funniest thing you’ve ever done. It’s up there, anyway. A-plus gag. 10/10, would chuckle again.
