Here’s a song I learned from Angel Olsen’s new record that came out TODAY! Photos are from a visit Angel made to the Loft with her band a few years back. Normally I put songs behind the paywall, but this album is brand-new and lovely, and I want everyone with ears to hear it.

What a great song, and I love the serendipity--we *just* watched the episode of Shining Girls that closes with Olsen's cover of "One Too Many Mornings."
Your voice! Never heard it so strong and soulful; sails right though the high notes, with feeling--smooth, like a golden-voiced country crooner from the 50s. You even have a bit of of quaver, and it all sounds natural, genuine. Love this. Love Angel Olsen too.
I’ve been listening to Angel’s new singles and “Cruel Country” on loop. Love hearing the St. Louis-area ex-pats tapping into the Country roots. A lovely cover, Jeff!
Angel has a gorgeous voice and spectacular song writing abilities! Heard one of her new songs on 89.3 The Current last night and was so impressed! That station is also promoting Cruel Country the last few days! Thank you, for promoting Angel's song and so glad you did not put your back out carrying Spencer like that years ago!! Do not try that now!
Angel Olsen was my gateway drug to Hand Habits a few years ago. I'd enjoyed Angel at ACLfest the prior fall. Was never so happy to be there for the 'opening band' at the Paramount (where I've seen you a couple time Jeffy :). Hand Habits forever and heartsick had to miss Solid Sound. And so great to see great artists supporting each other - love the cover - you make it sound like you wrote it and that is a hard thing to do with someone else's song
