This is Susie Miller Tweedy (and me). I’m tempted to say that if you aren’t married to her then your wife is a piece of crap. But hearing her voice in my head, I’m thinking better of saying such a thing. See… even without consultation, she’s steering me toward a subtler and kinder way of saying what I want to say. Which all goes to show what a force she’s been in my effort to be a better person. What I really want to say is this…
The photo of you two reminds me of Either Way, the first song on the first album that started a new, and better, era of songwriting. If the majestic, grandiose, Grammy-award winning Ghost is Born is a suicide note, then Sky Blue Sky is an awakening of a man surprised to find himself still alive, with the sun shining, humbly grateful, and remembering how much he is in love with his wife. The album came out in the 1st year of my marriage to my beautiful, hardly a piece of crap, wife, Kristin (sassipantsyoga), 16 years on August 4th, and this picture of you so obviously adoring your wife, that album, and every one since, remind me of how much I love my wife more and more with every passing day. Thank you.
Susie is a classic natural beauty-and you ain’t too bad yourself! But getting to spend so many nights with you all in your living room made me realize how deep and meaningful your relationship is. You’re both so lucky to have found each other.
Congratulations to you both! Coincidentally, my wife Susan (not at all crap) and I will celebrate 26 yrs. on Sept. 2nd, on a trip to Chicago. Love your music, your work with Wilco, and was turned on to it by a friend who gave me an Uncle Tupelo CD in the early 90s. My kids have listened to Wilco in my car for more than two decades now. One of my best nights was noticing you all were playing in Kalamazoo when my daughter was in her first year at K College. Picked her up, fed her dinner, took her to the State Theater for your show which was fantastic, and even let her share sips from my Bell's beer during your set. Your music is a gift to us, and we do appreciate it.

My boyfriend and I are up to 44years since taking vows and 47ish of living together ….It’s sure been a ride….. but he introduced me to your music just before your Brisbane Show in 2019 and that’s been another ride on musical wings for me ever since! I was humming tunes from Love is the King to keep calm on the 45 minute drive to hospital and in the pre-op room for a recent procedure, and started up again as soon as I woke up in recovery. The nurse growled at me to stop humming cos it was affecting my oxygen levels 😂 ….so I just sang in my head from thenceforth ! Thanks for your genius Mr Tweedy……. your songs do gift wings 🙏

Happy Day! Here's to the next 26! I remember on my 25th (over ten years ago), you reached down to me in the middle of a Wilco show, put your arm around my neck and wished me a Happy Anniversary. So, a virtual hug from me this time around...
I was just explaining to my mom, who is visiting, why I have 10 Wilco shirts, a Tweedy Siblings Union magnet on my fridge, a framed Wilco poster (right around the corner from a framed Jeff Tweedy poster), a Wilco concert poster book, two Jeff books and Wilco key chain. She said, you really love this band. I said, "I really love this family, honestly." And then I made her read this and she instantly got it. Also, she loved visiting me when we lived in Chicago, so when I told her where Lounge Ax was and that Susie owned it, she said: You should have led with that.
