A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs podcast. Every episode is revelatory. A river of facts and connections lifted up as poetry. Truly miraculous. If you like that sort of thing.
Beverly Glenn-Copeland. Music deeply centered and quietly heroic. I couldn’t resist singing his song “Harbour (Song for Elizabeth)” down below the paywall. Such a sweet song. Simple, well chosen lyrics. So still. Devastating.
Wilco. After all these years together I still marvel. Great musicians and even better people. I love the whole thing. BTW—when I say Wilco, I don’t just mean the six of us on stage. I mean everyone—Loft folks, management team, road crew, families, friends ... FANS! Such a strange thing to wrap one’s head around: “fans.” I’ve stopped trying to figure it out—what do they want? Where do they come from? What do they all have in common? Do they mind being called “fans?” I have a million questions. But above all, I’m grateful for the whole enchilada. OxO
