+ Chit-Chat Check-In #75: There Are a Lot of A’s in Guadalajara

Checking in before tonight’s Wilco show in Guadalajara, Mexico to share a version of “Pittsburgh,” off of Cousin. I think one of the first things I ever shared on here was an early incarnation of this song.

Last week at Sky Blue Sky, the kids and I did a Q+A event where someone asked me about the mysterious business of naming albums. It made me think that if you were really thinking of “Cousin” as a title track in terms of it being an ambassador to the whole album, it probably wouldn’t have been the track I would have picked. I probably would have picked “Pittsburgh,” or maybe “Sunlight Ends.”

1993 / December 9: Uncle Tupelo plays the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC at Tramp’s, sharing the bill with Kevin Salem. Mark Spencer guests on a cover of the Lowell George song “Willin’” during the 21-song set. 

2021 / December 10: Jeff’s Love Is the King/Live Is the King deluxe edition is released both digitally and on CD on dBpm Records.
