Chit-Chat Check-In #152 • Transcript

If you watched The Tweedy Show during the pandemic, you probably heard “Human” by Molly Sarlé. It was kind of a staple, and Sammy usually sang it.

Molly came out and sang it with us the other night in Napa, which was really wonderful. If you don’t know that record, Karaoke Angel, you should check it out along with Mountain Man, the band Molly is in with Amelia Meath and Alex Sauser-Monnig.

Even if I didn’t know Molly, I’d put “Human” in the top tier of my favorite songs. There are lyrics in it that distill something a lot of people spend their entire lives writing songs to try and say, like:

I see what I see
I don’t see what I can’t

It’s a very honest song, full of lots of beautiful lines.

We’re still out here doing the Tweedy Band shows and having a blast. It’s just been one night after another of joyous music-making with my family and friends. And I really appreciate it.

I got a crazy deal on this bridge. People said it was a scam but I’m feeling pretty good about being a bridge owner. | Photo credit: Spencer Tweedy
