All I can say is I hope the food is excellent at the Starship Casual! I can attest to the fact that it’s nice not to be sweating/drying off/dodging electric sky bolts for a few days.
And how much is too much Wilco? Over here at the mothership, I keep telling myself to diversify my easy listening music during work hours. I am good at it for the most part, but there is just so much meaningful content! The albums, tours, the supergroups, the solo work etc. -- they all get me nostalgic for different eras of my later adolescent and adult life. So many sweet moments, so many painful moments.
Here's a fun fact. On our first date, my husband planned to meet at a bar, The Rockwood, on the LES. I was living in NYC and he was living in Colorado. Of course, music was one of the first conversations we had. He had been traveling that week to visit a friend in North Carolina. When I mentioned you were among my favorite, he pulled a matchbook from his pocket and place it on the table that read Wilco. I am sure you've come across these at gas stations on the road. And the rest is a remarkable and extraordinary history we created together. Oh and, he's obvy a Superfan now.
I'll leave you with this, then I must get back to that database calling my name.
One of the sweetest of the sweet memories was seeing you all in Snowmass for Jazz Aspen. I think Sharon and Dap Kings and Calexico opened? At the time our oldest (now 11) was three months old and I had her strapped to me in the Ergo while I danced the night away with the hubs. The air, the mountains, the noise blocking headphones that wouldn't stay on her head! It was all beautiful.
Also, it was the first time a kid fell off a bed under our watch back at the chalet where we were staying. Happy to report that we've kept her and her little sister and brother alive thus far.
